programmed drop down list

Looking for someone to guide us in the right direction. We are looking to create a programmed drop down list that we can inbed into a cell. For example, you select an item in the drop down list and then it automatically fills another cell with information we program it to point to.

[h=1]In this spreadsheet there are up to (5) phone #s per contact person. There is a data validation list set up for each phone #. As per the image below. The default value of data validation is “No Attempt made”. Looking for a way to automatically set the value of the disposition to “# Not Available” in column U if the cell in column S is blank. The only reason why I am recommending VBA is because we need to lock in the functionality of the drop down list and we also need to give it the power to automatically populate other cells...
