Pivot Table Date Format

Hi,
I am working with a simple pivot table. When i drag and drop my date to rows of pivot table it shows up in "1-Jan" format but i want it to show up as "01/01/17" format. I tried to convert date in field settings of pivot table but did not work. I also tried to change number formatting but no luck. Any idea why its behaving like that.

Hi pivot table query person
when I make a pivot table - at the stage of dragging to date to rows, I clicked the down arrow on the date label in the "rows" portion down the bottom of the Pivot Table Fields window. On the down arrow click, I selected "Field Settings", and followed my nose.
When I tried it with date like dd/mm/yyyy, it came out that way.

Hang in there and give it another try.
