you can use the COUNTIF() function for getting the number number of cells within a range
that meet a single criterion that you specify. Example =COUNTIF(C16:C32;"Present")

Hi All,
I've created a roster for about 30 employees. It is designed it for this month and has every employee's name on it. Every date is recorded with Either Present or Absent or Offs. However, I'm unable to come up with a formula as to count how many days was one particular employee present.

It worked !
You can use the COUNTIF function. To count only if the condition is accomplish.
yes the countif function can only be used when the condition is accomplished
