Hi all, brand new here. Using Excel 2013.

I need help with extracting single numbers from a string of numbers. I am using the Find function (Ctrl F) in a column of cells that each contain six numbers from 1 to 99, separated by commas, no spaces, i.e., (6,32,44,59,67,71). The issue I'm having is that while finding any number over 10 is easy, finding 1 through nine is difficult, as the function returns all 1's, 2's, etc., including those in the teens, twenties, thirties, etc. My work around has been to run the function, then physically count the single integers, which is time heavy to say the least.

Can anyone give me a better solution, please?

please provide a sample workbook that is representative of your actual file that can be analyzed and a solution provided.

Well, it seems I found my own solution.

By breaking out the string into individual cells (Data/Text to Columns), then Find/Match entire cell contents, I can eliminate the multiple hits on any number over ten.

Thanks to those that read this post anyway.
