Hi im in need of some help here please

I have 3 columns of data

A is a manual list of data items which are NOT taxable
B is a manual list of data items which ARE taxable
C is a 10000 items list of transactions which i want to know if any of the words in A and B match against them -
D should contain the formula driven answer

Example
A B c d
dividend wagner bank interest there is no match so should say "CHECK"
Expenses IBIS hotel IBIS this is taxable so should say "CLAIM VAT"
transfer costa ryanair this is not taxable so should say "NEVER"
ryanair M&S H B Dividend there is a contains match so should say "NEVER"

It should take each transaction in column C in turn and determine if there is a contains word match against any of the words in a or b. It is very unlikely that there will be contains matches in and b or multiple matches in either a or b

this would be so helpful and would save hours of work....

thanks Graeme.

I created a new thread for you with your new question. It's advisable to always create a new thread in this case (adding a link to the original one) , which will give you a better chance to receive an answer
