Hi Guys

This my first post so hope you can help. I want to delete multiple lines containing data (not duplicated) all at once in excel. instead of filtering line by line is there a quick way that I can search/delete all at once?

For example, I wish to delete the data below which might be like 300/400 line items out of 4000 items.

Q6130599-1-1
Q6130630-1-2
Q6136627-1-1
Q6136627-2-1
Q6136773-1-1
Q6137284-1-1
Q6143568-1-2
Q6151061-1-1
Q6153440-1-2

As you can see, the list looks similar and to filter/tick/delete line by line takes a very long time

Regards
MH

What is the logic that determines which items get deleted ?

Thanks for your response NoS.

i am not sure if there is a logic to it, all i have got is a list of references - See below

out of the above list, i have to delete the below... sorry my excel knowledge is very basic so i have pasted all the refs

C2/A14528
C3/B09432
Q5115208-1-1
Q5115329-1-1
Q5138569-6-1-1
Q5143926-2-1
Q6070632-3-1
Q6115889-1-2
Q6116120-1-2
Q6130599-1-1
Q6130630-1-2
Q6136627-1-1
Q6136627-2-1
Q6136773-1-1
Q6137284-1-1
Q6143568-1-2
Q6151061-1-1
Q6153440-1-2

Sounds to me like you need a loop within a loop.
The outer loop to look at the individual cells (in a particular column?) and the inner loop to see if the value in that cell matches one of the refs.

Can you attach a sample sheet (not a picture) indicative of what you're dealing with?
We don't need 4000 rows, 20 to 30 should do.

Something in that direction maybe?
I have made a little example.
Check data every row with that value will be deleted.

Hi Guys

Sorry for late response as I did not have access to a computer but appreciate your input.

I have attached the file for FYI so you have an idea of what I am asking to do, might not be possible but I am sure when it comes to excel there is always a way (at least most of the times)

Basically, I need to delete all the reference in column D from column A. normally, I would put a filter on and tick each ref then delete but as you can imagine this can be time-consuming depending on the number of items to delete, plus the data description is similar and the wrong item can be deleted by accident.

is there a way I can find/filter on all item to be deleted at once so I can delete it?

Moved your To be deleted list to sheet2
There's a button to just filter or another will filter and do the deletes.
Hope something is of use.
