MS Query Vs Powerpivot

Hi,

I am wondering what could be achieved through MS query which couldn't be achieved through PP except SQL statement and parameters?

whats the basic difference?

PQ is something that you might consider using when doing such things as data cleaning, merging data, appending data and unpivoting data, I use it extensively for this type of thing in power BI...think of it as the kitchen where you do all the food prep and cleaning

PP is really at least for me where I will build relationships, and use predominantly measures to look at trends and patterns within the data (not so much calculated columns especially with large data sets)...think of as the dining table where you creatively present data

You can get PP to do some really intricate stuff with very advanced DAX however using PQ first often takes away the need for that
