Can more than one query update one table?

When I want to create a query that updates an existing table, the Import Data dialog whines that I can't overlay one table with another. (I might do that if I have one query that takes a long time and another that takes a short time. I want to update the quick query now, and the long query when I head off for another cup of coffee.)

Is there a way around that? Or is that just the way it is?

Hey Charley,

I'm not the guru here, but from my experience and tinkering (unless I missed a trick in connections or somewhere), I don't think that is possible. What you could do to try simulate this requirement is to have both the queries as only a connection. Then load to the worksheet the one you need at the time, deleting the sheet afterwards again.

I don't think it's possible either. But I'd hate to use workarounds when they aren't necessary.
