OK-I know what I want to do, I just don't know how to do it. I have a weekly time card that has a simple 'SUM' formula at the end of several rows. At the bottom of the column is a total cell that has a 'SUM' that adds up all of those cells. Now, under that I have a cell that refers to 'total regular hours' I need this cell to add up only to 40 and nothing more, but can be under 40. Then anything over 40 needs to go into the cell below ('total overtime hours'). I have looked into the 'IF' and 'OR' formulas, but am just not very familiar with them. So please if someone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

For regular hours try = MIN(your_formula,40) where "your_formula is the total of reg hours
The part over 40 should then be = MAX(0,your_formula-40)
Thank you Ken for this secure forum.

Thank you, works perfectly! I was making it way harder than it had to be.
