Hi
Has any one done a similar nomograph in excel(see attached). Read the nomograph you must have the diameter and internal pressure. for example diameter is 72 inches, internal pressure is 225 psi and the depth of plte read from the nomograph is 49 inches.
My search on the internet came to zero and I find it hard to believe that a nomograph created in 1955 has not or can not be redone using excel.
Your assistance will be appreciated
Regards

Hi Ken
Any luck with the nomograph
Hi justmd,
Sorry, I thought I'd replied on this.
I reached out to two of the most respected charting experts I know. They both came back with the same answer here. Essentially their feelings were that this chart technique was used before computers were in mainstream use. Once that happened, it became more sensible to build programs to just return the appropriate measures based on the inputs, rather than rely on the approximations of the charts.
