group a number of rows back based on value and sum

Hi everyone.


i am building an MRP (materials requirement planning) system in excel and am someView attachment MRP.xlsx kind of stuck on the following.


What i would like excel to do is, based on the lead time (in weeks) that there is a formula to make a cell look at other cell and sum. is this possible?

Could you explain some more ple&ase? In your example the "Lead time" ( whatever that is) is 4, and you sum 5 values in row 8?

Hi Pecoflyer,

Considering that i have two product for sales : product A and product B.
Product A need 4 weeks to be manufactured
Product B need 5 weeks.

Product A : in order to fulfill the sales quantity needed (e.g 5000) four week from now, a working order (Quantity 5000) should be started the current week (week 1);
If sales quantity in week 2,3,5,6 is 5000 for each period, an order of 15000 should be placed in week 1 and an order of 5000 in week 2.
