Looking to get Power Query? Here's what you need to know:
Getting Power Query
Do I get all the features?
Keeping Abreast of Updates
Power Query is updated approximately monthly, constantly shipping with new features. To keep up to date with which features have shipped, watch the Microsoft Excel blog, and specifically for Power Query (Get & Transform) posts.
Enjoy!
Getting Power Query
Office 2016: Power Query is installed by default and can be found on the Get & Transform group of the Data tab
Office 2013: Power Query must be downloaded (link below)
Office 2010: Power Query must be downloaded (link below) and is only officially supported if you have software assurance. (Try it anyway.)
For office 2010/2013, you can download the most recent version from Microsoft's site here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=39379
There are three things you should know about this download package:
- It takes admin rights to install
- You need to get the correct version: 32bit (x86) or 64bit (x64). This MUST match the version of Office (not Windows) that is installed on your system. To figure this out Go to File --> Account --> About Excel. The "bitness" should be listed at the end
