Return a list of values for a meal planning spreadsheet

I'm trying to create a spreadsheet to streamline meal planning/shopping list creation in my house.

What I've got is a spreadsheet with a list of dinner recipes for each day of the week.

I've got a list of ingredients for each recipe on a second tab.

What I want to do is have a place in the spreadsheet that generates a shopping list of ingredients based on the recipe inputs for each day of the week.

What would be REALLY sweet is if this list would then combine ingredients - e.g., if recipe 1 calls for 2 cloves of garlic and recipe 2 calls for 5 cloves of garlic, the ingredient list automatically combines them for a total of 7 cloves of garlic. This is the reason for the two versions of ingredients list on the second tab- the first one parses out quantity, unit, and item so that the list may be combinable. If that isn't possible, then I was just going to use the second list which isn't combinable, and thus it would just return a simple list of ingredients. It'd still get the job done, but not with all the bells and whistles I normally like.

Any ideas on how the heck to do this??
