Excel 2013 - Calendar Pop out when cell clicked

Help! I've tried everything! So many methods and tutorials and nothing seems to be working! I'm using Excel 2013 which I have a feeling may be the problem - although I am very unexperienced at Excel.

I'm looking to have a calendar pop out (monthly view is fine) so the user can be prompted to choose a date when they click on a cell.

I've tried the developer tab>insert>more controls>Microsoft Outlook Date Control>..and then dragging a square, and I get an error saying "Cannot insert object"

I'm stumped! please help! thanks! :)

Microsoft Date&Time Picker Control 6.0 doesn't always work as expected... I have lot of display problems with Excel 2010.
