Breaking links between workbooks

Hi. I am having some difficulty with linked workbooks. I copied 2 pages from one workbook and placed them in a new workbook. Now I cannot open either without the message that they are linked. How do I break the link? When I try, it tells me to open the source (the other workbook) to edit links. I have them both open, but the Break Link button is grayed out. What am I doing wrong? Help, please!!!
