Column Width Settings

Hello all

I'm working on a school related project that calls for specific column width in pixel measurement.

My questions:

Can I change Excel's default settings to accept pixel as the unit or will I have to do some sort of manual mathematical conversion?

If math is required, what unit of measurement is the standard 8.43?
