changing the date format

Hi Gurus,

I'm currently struggling with the following problem:

I have a date in the following format: 25-JAN-2013
I want to convert this to: 20130125

Could anyone help me with a solution?

Create this custom format using (CTRL+1) to enter formatting submenu
Format is yyyymmdd ;apply to required cells

Hi,

I already tried this option, it returns yyyy0125..

Just found out that this is indeed the problem. It had to be jjjj0125 since this PC is in Dutch. Never work on this pc so didn't noticed at first.
