Suppose i have a worksheet (like one attached) here

In D coloumn price of each item is written but it has Rs. means it has become text data
i want that amount before Rs. to be multiplied with figures in Column E
how can i avoid text Rs. and multiply with only figures plz like 120 Rs. means only 120'

(2) i want formula in F as multiplication of Columns D And E but i want that formula in the column if some thing is written in that row or it should be omitted if nothing in row. like in B7 to E7 how can i do that plz show

Try:

=IF(D6="","",E6*SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(D6,"Rs.",""),"-","."))

copied down.

@NBVC Sorry to but in, but I just had to say that I think that is a beautiful formula. Very simple and very elegant.
