SUM formula for Dynamic Column ending.

Hello Everyone,

I need to write a SUM formula for a column called Total. So the ending column may change after applying filter

Initially the formula will be in A1 =SUM(A1:Y1)
Next time it can be A1 = SUM(A1:C1)

Please help

With your formula it is not even adding the columns when i test in spreadsheet. It is giving me zero value though i have values in A,B and C columns.
 
So you are saying that say A1:C1 contains the values 1, 2 and 3

then your formula of =SUM(A1:C1) in D1 returns 6

whereas my formula of = SUM($A$1:C$1) in D1 returns 0

That is just not possible.
 
Yes. Anyway i found the solution through my tool.

Well share the answer as I would love to know how my formula couldn't work.
