following example given below for calculating period between two date difference.

YYYY MM DAY
2014 10 14
2012 12 27
Ans: 1 09 17


what formula to apply to get the above Answer.

Assuming dates are in A1 and A2, try:

=DATEDIF(A2,A1,"y")&" "&DATEDIF(A2,A1,"ym")&" "&DATEDIF(A2,A1,"md")
