Subject: Cell validation / Excel 2007

I already searched for hours on this problem, thus if somebody can help, here is my (little) problem (see also attachment):

- A cell validation is defined for cell B2, based on a range of cells (with e.g. Y and N)
- Normally when the cell B2 is selected, one can choose Y or N and the input is validated.

- When the cell B2 is directly under a title cell,
- Giving a right click (mouse) displays the option "Select from dropdown list"
- Selecting the option "Select from dropdown list' displays t the text from the title cell and not the Y or N
- An Enter / Return puts the text in the cell B2
- The validation doesn't work.

- When the cell B2 is separated from the title cell by an empty cell,
- Giving a right click (mouse) displays the option "Select from dropdown list"
- Selecting the option "Select from dropdown list' displays the Y or N (=validation range)
- An Enter / Return puts the Y or N cell B2
- The validation works.

Questions

Is it possible, to avoid that the value of the title cell is displayed and validated as input instead of the validation range?
Or has it something to do with my Excel configuration? Or is it something else?

Thx a lot,
