If I have two columns a and b, a = date 10.03.13 and b=09.03.14 .
When I can update to 10.03.14 to 09.3.15, how do I automatically change both of the cells to the same selected colour.

Can you explain it a bit? don't know what you mean when you say you can update to ...... to...... Have you tried conditional formatting?
