I have created a spreadsheet that performs calculations using data fromanother spreadsheet. It worked fine inthe past when I only needed to link around 50 cells to another spreadsheet.

Now, I have linked 3000 - 4000 cellsto another spreadsheet so each time when I open it, it takes several minutes tocalculate / update all links.

Is there a more efficient way to link a few thousand of cells to another spreadsheetin order to retrieve data on a daily basis?

Wow... that sounds like a terrifying situation to me...

Is the original spreadsheet being treated like a database? If your cells were all in a table in the source file, you could pull them in using a PivotTable. I'm fairly certain that would be quicker...
