    How do you stop the date from appearing as a number when you are adding cells together?

    Welcome to the forum.

    Do you mean concatenating, rather than adding? If so, use the TEXT function:
    =A1&TEXT(B1,"dd/mm/yyyy")
    for example.
    Circumference of a circle = 2πr²



    ²the circle's radius

    Yes I do mean concatenating and this works so thank you.
