Hi. I have another extremely basic question. I am trying to create a pie chart in Excel 2011 (Mac) and I can't figure out how to add the labels to the legend. "HELP" has no information on this - ridiculous. Any real help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In form "Select Data Source" press button "Edit" which is in the right section named "Horizontal (Category) Axis Label". Then select your labels range.

Hope that is what you were asking?

Jonix, welcome to the forum, and thanks for posting a solution!

Texaslonghorn, I don't have a Mac, so just in case it is any different on that platform I asked a colleague to drop in and look as well. :)

Looks like the interface is very similar in Excel 2011 for the Mac. According to @bella_b: "the posted answer is correct. under "select data" it pulls legend labels from what's in "category (x) axis labels"."

Hello,

In the Excel 2011 for Mac, you select the chart, right click, Select Data, and it appears like the picture, in "Category (X) axis labels" you select the cells of the labels you want.
