Merging sheets by common column and rows

I have about 20 country-level data (e.g. GDP, education, life expectancy. ) on 20 different sheets, and I want to merge them on a single sheet by the country variable. I ranked the countries alphabetically to facilitate the merge, but the issue is that data for some indicators are missing for some countries. So I'd like to know if there is any special function shortcut to perform this. My goal is to make only the countries present in all the sheets. I found the VLOOKUP option on a website, but that looked complicated to me.
