Calculating lates (time)

Hi. I'm trying to calculate if an employee is late or just in time. The shift starts at 12am and the employee logged in by 23:52. When I deduct it, it's giving me the value of 23:52 as LATE when in fact the employee logged in earlier than the shift start.. Not sure what to do. Thanks in advance.
