Index column to rejoin data at a later date?

I have a data set that I need to split into three different tables so that data can be entered by others.

I am thinking that I can add an index column to the master data set, then split the data into 3 different tables, have others enter the data required, and then rejoin the 3 tables based on the index column.

Or perhaps a Join, based on the index column?

Any tips, advice or solutions appreciated.

How about having 3 sheets that refer to the separate parts you want to split intgo, update those 3 and have some event code that echoes the update back to the master. An index column is a good idea, regardless.

    Excellent idea. I'll try that.
