Finding text within a pivot table to add to getpivot formula

I have a new workbook that was handed to me that has me a little stumped. They would like the sum of a pivot table based on a specific string of text. In other words, if the text reads “this is my text”, they would like to know the sum of the pivot table if “text exists in the string. I was going to try and do a search or find, then put that into the getpivot formula, but not sure how this would be done. Any ideas on an alternative method?
