Hello,

I am new here and am looking for help with a formula.
I am a set designer and need to keep an eye on production costs.
I have created a multi tab worksheet : View attachment Excell file.xlsx

On the second sheet named Back Up, I will be entering purchased item amounts to keep an eye on the budget.
Under the 'Item' column I have created a drop down list:
Assistants
Production
Set Build
Props

Is there a formula I can add to the pink 'budget' boxes on the righthand side, to calculate the costs on each line?
For instance if I have added a cost for assistants in the left hand sheet, and selected form the drop down list 'assistants' the box on the right will automatically calculate every cost with assistants as an 'item'?

I know I can manually add these costs but it would be great if there would be an auto calc.

Thank you for your help in advance!

I hope this make sense!

Many thanks!

I believe the function you are looking for is SUMIF.

You can change the range on the formula to be the entire E & F columns
