I have .txt files in a folder. The text files will be delimited with Tab. The text file first contains the column headings. It is required to import in to an excel template. I am able to import the text files into excel. But it is not require to import which text file is not having the columns of excel template. Is there any procedure to do this.

Thanks for any help...

Manually or automatically? Both can be done.

When you open the text file from within Excel, it should bring up a wizard to guide you through the process. During one of those steps, you can uncheck the columns you don't want.

If you'd like it automated, then the best thing to do is record a macro, then post the code here so that we can help you clean it up and make it a bit more dynamic. (Although, I would want to know if the column headers were always the same first.)
