After getting one of these at home and seeing the power, I am convinced that within 5 years, we'll be seeing a Kinect type device installed on work desktops. I see that Rodney Buike of Microsoft tweeted an article today that shows the device has already made an impact in one hospital:

This is really cool stuff, and I can see this affecting everything, including our spreadsheet world. Point to the screen when you're auditing a spreadsheet and in it zooms. Swipe side to side to change sheets, etc.

What do you think? Will it be that long until we start seeing these devices in the office, or longer?

Very cool. Can't wait for the Kinect-capable bidet.

Good news, Jeff. The windows SDK for Kinect is out as of yesterday. You can start programming that bidet now!
