I am working on a stopgap report using Excel in which I would like to down a pivot table (ie not allow changes to filters or data selected) and would like to have it distributed so that business users could add comments in the column to the right of the pivot table. Is there a way to lock the pivot table without locking down the excel workbook?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

Would it work for you to COPY-PASTE VALUES into a new spreadsheet and then share that?

That's a good workaround - trying to eliminate as many 'manual' steps as possible.

You could lock down the pivot table cells, including the filters, via Protect Sheet. Select the cells you want "untouchable" and lock them down. This will leave the column for comments accessible.

Perfect - Thanks!
